Cloud computing is growing fast; yet the biggest growth is still before us.
Growth in Cloud Computing in the 12 months till August 2009:
- Cloud infrastructure spending (spent on cloud provider resources) grew 380%
- Average cloud costs per customer grew 140% – i.e. companies on average were spending 2.5X more
The really big growth is still ahead of us. If you look at the top 0.5 million websites in the world, only about 1%-2% are in the cloud. So there is plenty of room for continued growth.
Cloud computing is a good place to be just now.
