Porticor VPD Now Supports Amazon’s Virtual Private Cloud (VPC)

Many of our customers are also avid users of Amazon VPC, and for good reason: the same security-aware individuals and organizations who want to protect their network by placing their business-critical servers in a closed VPC, will also wish to protect their data using Porticor’s strong encryption and key management technologies.

Porticor VPD Now Supports Amazons Virtual Private Cloud (VPC)

Amazon VPC

Our product’s customers have requested support for VPC and we are glad to comply: full VPC support is now available. If you have used Porticor in the past, you will see very little difference: our security appliance is still deployed in minutes to protect your data, with no need to change any of your applications. We protect the entire data layer, encrypting disk volumes, databases, file systems and object (S3) storage.

The virtual appliance is deployed inside your VPC, alongside your application servers. This means your data never leaves the VPC in an unencrypted form. Another benefit is that you can securely snapshot your EBS disks, even though the snapshots are maintained outside VPC, because the EBS disks are encrypted from the get go!
